Our Shoes
Every pair is hand lasted, hand welted and finished with a hand-stitched outsole. We never compromise on construction.
A small family workshop in the Italian countryside
We are Luca and Jenny, the two people behind Calzoleria De Fumo. We work together from our small workshop at our home in Pollenza:
Luca makes each pair by hand, with Jenny lending a hand in the workshop while also looking after our clients, orders and communication.
And then there’s Barbarossa, our cocker spaniel, who keeps the workshop running on schedule. Mostly by reminding us when it’s time for lunch or a snack.
De Fumo is the nickname of Luca's father, Renzo Alessandrini, a name that has been associated with shoemaking in our town for over 65 years.

Made by hand, one pair at time
Upper Closing
Each upper is individually cut and stitched in our workshop
Hand-stitched outsole
The outsole is attached with a dense, traditional hand-stitched seam.
Hand Lasted
The upper is shaped over the last entirely by hand.
Bottom work
The sole and edges are shaped and finished by hand.
Hand Welted
The welt is stitched by hand directly to the leather insole.
Lasted shoetrees
Each pair is completed with shoetrees shaped to its individual last.
